Glass Luncheon, Musée des Arts Décoratifs
The goal was to create intimacy in the grand Salon des Boiseries of the MAD in order to allow its precious 18th century glass cabinets (verre filé de Nevers) to stand out.
To inspire guests to participate in the acquisition of contemporary glass artist Michael Glancy’s Cusco, I collaborated with graphic designer and decorator Jean Louis Mennesson and Guillaume Saalberg, master of modern glass, to create an environment where humble materials —the screens (stamped and gold leaf) and palm trees are crafted from cardboard—mixed with refined objects in a highly stylized room created a relaxed, comfortable atmosphere.
